Mobile Waste Operative
Location: DTG Yard, Chestnuts Farm, Eastcote Lane, Solihull, B92 0AS
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am - 4pm with overtime at the weekend available

DTG is one of the Midlands’ leading providers of Facilities Management, Environmental, and Waste Services. We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Mobile Waste and Specialist Cleaning Operative to join our team, responsible for the efficient collection and disposal of waste across multiple transfer stations in the Birmingham area.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe and efficient collection, removal and disposal of waste across multiple sites
- Collection and clearance of fly-tipped waste and bulky items
- Transport and disposal of waste at licensed transfer stations, in line with Duty of Care requirements
- General litter picking and maintaining site cleanliness
- Completion of day-to-day cleaning duties at various locations, including communal areas and external spaces
- Pressure washing, steam cleaning and specialist exterior cleaning works
- Gutter cleaning and high-level cleaning using appropriate access equipment (training provided where required)
- Graffiti removal and specialist surface cleaning
- Completion of deep cleans, void cleans and site clearances
- Removal of animal carcasses and hazardous waste (in line with training and procedures)
- Operation and basic maintenance of cleaning and waste equipment and vehicles
- Adherence to all Health & Safety policies, RAMS and safe systems of work
- Accurate completion of job records, photos and site documentation as required
- Maintain a valid Waste Carrier Licence and comply with all environmental legislation
Requirements
- Good level of physical fitness and ability to carry out manual handling tasks
- Flexible and adaptable, comfortable working across a varied role including waste, cleaning and specialist works
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced and sometimes reactive environment
- Previous experience in waste, cleaning, environmental or facilities services is desirable
- Willingness to undertake additional training (e.g. pressure washing, high-level cleaning, specialist equipment)
- Full UK driving licence (aged 25+ with a minimum of one year’s driving experience and no driving convictions in the last 3 years)
- Experience in towing
