Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced deep drainage groundworker with a strong track record in installing and maintaining complex drainage systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of trenching, excavation, pipe-laying, and backfilling for both residential and commercial projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Excavate and prepare trenches for deep drainage systems according to project specifications.
- Install, connect, and inspect pipes and drainage components, including manholes, culverts, and soakaways.
- Ensure accurate levels, gradients, and alignments using surveying instruments and manual techniques.
- Operate machinery and tools safely, including excavators, dumpers, and compaction equipment.
- Conduct site checks and maintenance to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with site managers, engineers, and other groundworkers to deliver projects on time.
- Identify potential drainage issues and provide solutions to maintain structural integrity and functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and site conditions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in deep drainage and groundworks on medium to large-scale projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and drainage specifications.
- Skilled in using excavation equipment, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and best practices in groundworks.
- Physical fitness and stamina to work in demanding environments.
- Team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CSCS, CPCS, or equivalent) preferred.
