The Opportunity
Our site maintenance team in Faversham are looking for a dynamic and multi-skilled Site Automation Engineer where you will provide first-class engineering where you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining site-based machinery and sortation systems.
This crucial role sits within the heart of our busy operation where you will contribute to site efficiency, safety and performance. You will work a rotational 4on 4off shift pattern covering both days and nights, therefore flexibility is required.
What you'll be doing
Reporting into the Site Engineering Manager you will carry out planned maintenance on site machinery and sortation systems, ensuring work is completed in accordance with the required schedule and manufacturer guidelines. You will ensure all breakdowns and reactive works are carried out to a high standard without disruption to the operation, accurately diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults with the machine and wider site needs.
You will be proactive in your approach always looking for ways to improve, carrying out repairs and improvement work. You will ensure all work is undertaken and equipment downtime is accurately recorded, communicating technical information and outstanding tasks, escalating issues to relevant management.
What we're looking for
To be successful in your application you will be able to demonstrate:
- Hold a qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Proven technical expertise, experienced in site-based system/conveyer maintenance.
- Ability to read performance data and implement predictive maintenance strategies.
- Experience of working within a warehousing, operational or logistics and supply chain setting.
- Problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.
- Collaborative team player who can also work to their own initiative.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build excellent working relationships.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations to ensure operational safety.
- It would be desirable, but not essential if you have an understanding of automation technologies.
Role details:
Salary: Up to £55,500 per annum, plus shift allowance of £2,922 per annum.
Working Pattern: Rotational 4on 4off 12-hour shift (Days/Nights)
