We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Yard Operative to support the day-to-day operation of our yard, stores, warehouse, and vehicle fleet.
The Role
This is a varied and hands-on position that will help ensure our yard and facilities remain organised, safe, and ready to support our operational teams working across multiple construction sites.
The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining high standards and be willing to undertake a wide range of practical duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep the yard clean, tidy, organised, and safe.
- Maintain cleanliness and order within the warehouse and storage areas.
- Unload and check deliveries against delivery notes.
- Put away stock and maintain organised stores.
- Check material availability as required by site teams.
- Support stock control and stores management activities.
- Carry out basic vehicle maintenance checks, including fluid levels and cleanliness.
- Wash and maintain company vehicles and plant equipment.
- Undertake occasional driving duties, including collecting and delivering materials, tools, and equipment to sites and suppliers.
- Assist with six-monthly lifting equipment inspections.
- Support general yard maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
- Carry out grounds maintenance activities including weed control, trimming bushes, and keeping external areas presentable.
- Operate a telehandler (training and licence will be provided for the right candidate).

- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
- Practical and hands-on approach to work.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Awareness of health and safety requirements.
Previous experience working in a yard, warehouse, construction, plant, or logistics environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
