We are seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operations of our exciting new pub opening at the end of August. The venue will offer a lively and welcoming atmosphere with a strong focus on live sport, quality food, and exceptional customer service. Alongside an excellent food offering, the pub will deliver a vibrant social experience, with busy Friday and Saturday nights creating a high-energy environment. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced operation and be excited by the opportunity to build a successful business from the ground up.
Working closely with the Area Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting and developing your team, preparing the site for launch, driving standards from day one, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and play a key role in the success of one of its newest venues.
Responsibilities
- Lead the successful opening and day-to-day management of the pub.
- Recruit, train, develop and motivate front-of-house and kitchen teams.
- Work closely with the Area Manager to achieve business objectives and drive performance.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain the highest hospitality standards.
- Manage staff rotas, recruitment, onboarding and performance development.
- Monitor stock control, ordering and supplier relationships.
- Ensure full compliance with licensing legislation, health & safety and food hygiene regulations.
- Drive sales, profitability and business growth through effective leadership and commercial awareness.
- Handle customer feedback professionally and resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and operational organisation.
- Develop sports events, promotions and customer engagement initiatives to build trade and community presence.
- Create a positive, energetic and supportive working environment that encourages team success.
Requirements
- Previous management experience within hospitality, pubs, bars or restaurants is essential.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to recruit, inspire and develop a successful team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong understanding of stock control, labour management and business operations.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence managing busy weekend, sporting and late-night trade.
- Hands-on management style with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of licensing laws, food safety and health & safety regulations.
- Organised, reliable and professional approach.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and key trading periods.
- Personal Licence Holder.
