Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Window Surveyor / Supervisor to support the surveying, planning, and supervision of window and door installation projects. The successful candidate will assist in carrying out accurate site surveys, ensuring measurements and specifications are correct, while helping to oversee installation teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.This role is ideal for someone with experience in the fenestration, construction, or home improvement industry who is looking to develop their surveying and supervisory skills.
Key Responsibilities
Surveying Duties
- Assist with surveying residential and commercial properties for window, door, and glazing installations.
- Take accurate measurements and record site conditions.
- Identify any installation challenges and report findings to the Senior Surveyor.
- Prepare survey reports, sketches, and documentation.
- Verify product specifications and installation requirements.
- Ensure product specifications comply with current regulations.
- Liaise with customers to explain survey findings and installation processes.
Supervisory Duties
- Support the supervision of installation teams on-site.
- Monitor work quality to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Ensure installations are completed within agreed timescales.
- Assist in resolving on-site issues and customer concerns.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks.
- Promote and enforce health and safety procedures.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of surveys, installations, and site visits.
- Assist with scheduling installations and coordinating resources.
- Communicate effectively with office staff, surveyors, installers, and customers.
- Ensure all paperwork and compliance documents are completed correctly.
Skills and ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience within the window, door, glazing, or construction industry.
- Good understanding of window and door installation processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read drawings and technical specifications.
- Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience conducting site surveys.
- Supervisory or team-leading experience.
- Knowledge of Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Familiarity with uPVC, aluminium, and timber window systems.
- Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., CSCS, SSSTS, or equivalent).
- Fenestration level 6 desirable
- Good computer skills
