Associate Sports and Remedial Therapist
Obtainable Fitness is an established Sports and Remedial Therapy clinic with more than 500 five-star reviews, reflecting our excellent reputation, high professional standards and commitment to patient care.
We specialise in:
- Sports and remedial massage
- Dry needling
- Assisted stretching
- Exercise prescription and rehabilitation
- Manipulative therapy using traditional osteopathic techniques
Our mission is to help patients reduce pain, improve movement and reach their performance goals. We combine thorough assessments, sound clinical reasoning, appropriate treatment interventions and patient education to deliver safe, effective and individualised care.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and professional Associate Sports and Remedial Therapist to join our established clinic.
This opportunity would suit a driven practitioner who wants to build and maintain their own loyal patient list while benefiting from the reputation, facilities, support and existing patient base of a successful clinic.
The clinic will provide support and opportunities. However, the successful applicant must be proactive in building professional relationships, retaining patients, promoting their availability and developing a sustainable caseload.
This is not a passive role where a full patient list will automatically be provided. We are looking for someone motivated to turn the opportunities provided by the clinic into trusted, long-term patient relationships.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a minimum Level 4 qualification in Sports Massage or an equivalent relevant discipline.
- Have at least three years’ post-qualification clinical experience.
- Hold appropriate professional and public liability insurance.
- Have strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Be confident conducting consultations, physical assessments and personalised treatments.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism and a strong work ethic.
- Be available to work evenings and/or weekends.
- Be motivated to build and maintain their own patient list within an already established clinic.
- Be able to travel to the clinic reliably and consistently.
Desirable Requirements
- A Level 5 qualification or relevant degree.
- Additional qualifications in dry needling, rehabilitation, assisted stretching or manipulative therapy.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable car.
- The ability to commute to the clinic within approximately 30 minutes.
A driving licence and access to a car are strongly preferred because the clinic is situated in a rural and somewhat isolated location with limited public transport.
Key Responsibilities
The successful practitioner will:
- Deliver professional Sports and Remedial Therapy treatments based on each patient’s individual presentation and goals.
- Conduct appropriate consultations and physical assessments.
- Develop personalised treatment, rehabilitation and self-management plans.
- Apply and adapt treatment techniques according to clinical findings, patient preferences and professional scope of practice.
- Explain treatment options clearly and obtain informed consent.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date clinical records.
- Provide appropriate aftercare, exercise and self-management advice.
- Communicate with patients respectfully and professionally.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, infection control and treatment-room presentation.
- Work collaboratively with other practitioners and healthcare professionals where appropriate.
- Support patient retention through excellent care, communication and follow-up.
- Take an active role in developing their caseload and professional reputation.
- Contribute positively to the clinic’s culture, reputation and continued growth.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Is clinically confident, reliable and committed to delivering excellent care.
- Can explain their clinical reasoning and treatment recommendations clearly.
- Takes responsibility for the complete patient experience.
- Understands the importance of patient retention and caseload development.
- Is proactive in promoting their availability and services.
- Builds strong, long-term professional relationships with patients.
- Works well independently while contributing positively to the wider clinic team.
- Wants to continue developing within a respected and supportive clinical environment.
- Is genuinely driven to build their own patient list within an established clinic.
Availability, Shifts and Travel
The successful applicant will initially commit to two regular shifts per week, typically lasting five to six hours and including evening and/or weekend availability.
Additional shifts and hours may become available as the practitioner builds their patient list and clinic demand increases.
Applicants must be able to travel to the clinic reliably and fulfil their agreed shifts consistently. Due to the clinic’s rural and somewhat isolated location, a full UK driving license and access to a reliable car are strongly preferred.
Applicants should ideally live within, or be able to commute to the clinic within, approximately 30 minutes.
