Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Van Driver aged 25 or over to join our team. The primary responsibility is to drive to customer locations, load the van with scrap tyres, and deliver them back to site. This role requires a motivated individual who can handle physical work, maintain a strong focus on safety, and provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving and Route Management:
- Operate a company van to travel to and from customer locations, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely collection and delivery.
- Loading and Unloading:
- Safely load scrap tyres onto the van at customer sites, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage or safety hazards.
- Unload tyres at designated recycling locations.
- Customer Interaction:
- Provide a professional and courteous service when interacting with customers.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct routine vehicle checks (e.g., oil, tyres, lights) to ensure the van is in good working condition.
- Report any maintenance issues or accidents promptly.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of collections and deliveries, including receipts or manifests for scrap tyres.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental guidelines related to scrap tyre handling.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Must be 25 years of age or older(Insurance Purposes).
- A valid driver’s license.
- A clean driving record, some minor offences can be accepted (Insurance stipulated)
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items repeatedly.
- Good time management and route planning skills.
- Desirable:
- Experience in a similar role, such as delivery driving or waste management.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to heavy lifting and waste handling.
Personal Attributes:
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
- Regular physical work, including lifting and moving tyres.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Adherence to safety gear requirements, such as gloves or boots.
Salary: Competitive.
Hours: Full-time, with possible overtime as required.
