The role: Part-time chef
We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to assit with the weekend operation of our kitchen.
This role would suit a commis chef looking for a more relaxed role.
You will be working directly under the lead chef.
There is scope for more hours as we also operate a brunch menu in the morning/early afternoon.
The venue
We are moving our current operation to a new venue in the heart of Hockley.
Predominantly a wine bar with a European/Mediterranean food offering. The emphasis is on fresh produce, evocative of European bars, simple and elegant.
Ideally you will:
- Have a minimum of 1 year experience in a junior role.
- Display a working knowledge of basic cooking techniques and practices
- Show an understanding of excellent health and hygiene practice
- Be comfortable taking direction.
- Be competent enough to assist in prep & service
- Show a keen desire to learn and progress your skills.
You would be responsible for helping to maintain excellent standards of hygiene (food safety / health & safety / COSHH laws).Running the kitchen to an excellent standard in the absence of the lead chef, taking pride in attention to detail.Help to maintain a clean and hospitable environment under direction from the lead chef.
Circa 12-15 hours over two days with more available when covering the lead chef.
