As we embark on a period of significant, planned growth across our Skills Bootcamps, Adult Skills Fund (ASF) provision, and B2B activity, we are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our team and support our Finance Manager.
Role Overview
- Position: Finance Assistant
- Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (14-21 hours per week)
- Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 pro-rata, based on experience
- Reporting to: Finance Manager
Main Purpose of the Job
To provide essential financial support to the organisation by managing key finance tasks, ensuring the timely and accurate processing and delivery of financial information.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Process purchase invoices and prepare payments for authorisation.
- Prepare sales invoices, working closely with our Data Returns Clerk.
- Manage bank reconciliation processes and monitor Accounts Payable and Receivable.
- Assist with month-end and year-end reporting and processes.
- Maintain accurate financial records.
- Respond to accounts queries and prepare ad-hoc financial reporting as needed.
- Support payroll administration.
Person Specification
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to work.
- Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills with a passion for building relationships.
- Organised, proactive, and capable of managing your own workload effectively.
Qualifications
- AAT qualified, studying towards AAT, ACCA, or ACA, or qualified by experience.
Benefits
- Hours: 14-21 hours per week, between 09:00 and 17:00 (flexible working pattern negotiable).
