We are a growing and professional haulage company committed to providing reliable, compliant, and efficient transport services across the UK. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Transport Manager who holds a valid Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) to oversee our transport operations and ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation.
The Role
As our Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transport operation, ensuring vehicles, drivers, and processes operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with UK transport regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold and fulfil the role of the company's nominated Transport Manager.
- Ensure compliance with Operator Licence (O-Licence) undertakings and all DVSA regulations.
- Manage driver compliance, including working time, drivers' hours, and tachograph regulations.
- Plan and oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, MOTs, inspections, and defect reporting.
- Monitor fleet performance, utilisation, and operational efficiency.
- Recruit, train, and manage drivers where required.
- Investigate and resolve transport-related incidents and compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate transport records and documentation.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, maintenance providers, and regulatory authorities.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Essential Requirements
- Valid Transport Manager CPC (Road Haulage) qualification.
- Previous experience managing a transport operation within the haulage or logistics industry.
- Thorough knowledge of UK Operator Licence requirements, DVSA regulations, and drivers' hours legislation.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and transport management systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience managing HGV fleets.
- Knowledge of FORS, Earned Recognition, or other compliance schemes.
- Experience with fleet management software.

Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
