We are looking for a hard working, reliable, Sample Assistant to join our friendly team at Rawtenstall.
Sample Assistant
Working closely with the Buying, QA and Sales Departments, you will be responsible for the receipt, processing, labelling, internal distribution and despatch of footwear samples, ensuring the smooth transition of samples throughout the business and onwards to our customers.
You will be friendly, hardworking, organised, enthusiastic and capable of working under pressure both as part of a team and also on your own initiative. You will be extremely flexible and capable of moving from one task to another; priorities change quickly during the working day.
The role will be responsible for receiving deliveries into the business and dispatching goods from the business as such, experience of working with couriers and carriers would be advantageous. Manual handling of deliveries and despatches, up to 15kg, will be required.
In particular you will be responsible for:
- Receipt of boxed samples and other deliveries into our warehouse.
- Recording, labelling and internally distributing footwear samples
- Monitoring incoming shipments for compliance issues, logging and reporting errors and discussing with factories if needed
- Dispatching footwear samples and other goods from the warehouse to both domestic and international destinations
- Managing internal transfers between two local sites and international sites
- Ordering and distributing staff sales internally on our in-house Warehouse Management System
- Monitoring shipments, dealing with customs requirements and tracking issues to ensure timely delivery
- Inspecting shipping invoices for errors, collating prices and monitoring overall shipment costs, reporting back to the relevant brand managers
- Organising and cataloguing internal sample stock rooms each season
- Pairing up old footwear samples to be sold on
- Housekeeping in the Sample Rooms and the Warehouse
You will have great communication skills, an outstanding work ethic with a good working knowledge of MS Office, particulary Excel and Outlook.
You will either have a minimum of 4 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade 4, (grade C) and above including English and Maths, or experience in a similar role.
