We are looking for a Butcher/Relief Delivery Driver, reporting to the Depot Manager, to carry out the preparation of company fresh meat products within the butchery area in an efficient and hygienic manner. You will also occasionally deliver orders to customers as required (driving licence required).
Duties
· Prepare fresh meat (cutting, boning, dicing etc) and other food orders as specified on delivery notes.
· Load customers' orders on to the delivery vehicles.
· Clean food preparation machinery/areas and fridges.
· Answer the telephone and carry out basic computer duties.
· Occasionally deliver orders to customers as specified on delivery notes ensuring they arrive at times required by the customer.
· To use any machinery that is necessary, following adequate training, in the course of your work such as fork lift trucks and pallet barrows.
· To ensure that all procedures laid down in the Company's Drivers' Procedures are adhered to, eg, road traffic laws, vehicle inspection, defect reporting, refuelling, vehicle cleaning and tachograph rules where applicable.
· To ensure that a "clean as you go" policy is followed, as defined in the Company's cleaning schedule.
· To ensure personal standards and performance are maintained in accordance with Company policies, codes of practice and pre-determined targets.
· To ensure Company policies on Health & Safety, Quality, Hygiene and Due Diligence are met during all duties and activities.
· To carry out any other duties as reasonably required.
Hours & salary
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6.00am – 2.00pm (4 out of 5 days as per rota) plus permanent Saturdays, 5.30am – 1.30pm. £13.45 per hour.
