Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Centre Manager to support the daily operations of our centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Centre Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficiency and safety standards are maintained
- Support staff management, including scheduling, training, and performance
- To work in the office and carry out office procedures, such as making bookings and answering e-mails and to provide a helpful “can do” environment to support actual and potential customers in delivering their activities using the centre’s facilities.
- To support the volunteers in carrying out their duties.
- To understand, and work in compliance with policies, procedures, and operational processes. To gather information to enable writing policies and procedure with the assistance of the centre’s team and t o gain an understanding of Governance issues and assist the Centre Manager to develop and improve processes that comply.
- To work with the Centre Manager and Team to plan and carry out regular events within and outside the Centre.
- To attend monthly volunteer meetings and management meetings.
- This role requires a dedicated individual capable of balancing technical tasks with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the centre operates efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Enjoys working in a team environment, but also to work unsupervised when necessary.
- Good communicator with necessary people skills to work with wide range of Centre customers, contractors and the public.
- Good level of IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office, and experience with booking systems and basic finance processes.
- Experience in public-facing, ideally leisure-based role, understanding importance of adherence to Health and Safety rules, risk assessments and other policies and procedures.
- Enjoys investigating and developing new activities and events.
- Flexible attitude towards working environment.
- Minimum qualifications of 5 GCSE’s A-C or equivalent, including Maths and English.
- Must be discreet and professional when handling sensitive information.
- Previous office experience in an office environment would be an advantage.
- First aid knowledge would be useful, but training is available.
- Experience in Marketing would be useful but not essential.
