Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in environments such as offices, retail units, and industrial facilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in electrical work to contribute to diverse infrastructure developments while ensuring safety and compliance standards are met. Applicants should possess practical experience with hand tools and power tools, alongside a solid understanding of electrical systems. You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality electrical solutions.
Duties
- Installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in commercial, or industrial settings.
- Diagnosing electrical faults using specialised testing devices and implementing effective solutions.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to complete installations accurately.
- Ensuring all work complies with current electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems to prevent future issues.
- Collaborating with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Keeping detailed records of work performed and materials used for each project.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Commercial/Industrial Electrician.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level3, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Valid Full UK driving licence is essential.
- JIB Gold Card.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
Desireable skills
- Experience with fire alarm systems, data cabling, or security systems.
- Testing & Inspection certificate (e.g. 2391)
- Experience working on large-scale commercial projects.
