Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Shop Assistant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with merchandising, and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop. This role offers an opportunity to develop organisational and communication skills within a dynamic environment. The Shop Assistant will be expected to work efficiently, demonstrate a positive attitude, and contribute to a welcoming shopping experience for all customers.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries in a professional manner
- Support merchandising efforts by organising products on shelves and displays to maximise visual appeal
- Handle transactions accurately using the till system, including processing payments and issuing receipts
- Upsell products where appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor, ensuring stock levels are adequate and well-presented
- Manage stock replenishment by receiving deliveries and organising stock storage areas
- Provide information about products, promotions, and store policies to customers in clear English or Spanish as required
- Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when answering queries or taking orders over the phone
- Assist with general shop duties such as cleaning or arranging displays as needed
- Support team members in achieving daily sales targets and maintaining high standards of customer service
