Job Overview - Legal Assistant / Paralegal
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal specializing in Private Client matters to join our legal team. The successful candidate will support Solicitors in managing a diverse range of private client cases, including estate planning, probate, trusts, and wealth management. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in private client law while contributing to the delivery of high-quality legal services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency with legal and office software to ensure efficient case management and client support.
Responsibilities
Assist solicitors with preparing and reviewing legal documents related to estate planning, probate, trusts, and other private client matters.
Conduct legal research using various resources to support case development and strategy.
Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with legal standards.
Coordinate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case progress in a professional manner.
Utilize Microsoft Office suite—including Word, Excel, and Outlook—to prepare documents, manage schedules, and communicate effectively.
Maintain strict confidentiality of client information while adhering to data protection policies.
Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, tracking deadlines, extensive diary management and email inbox management,and preparing reports to support case workflows.
Qualifications
Ideally two years’ experience as a paralegal or legal assistant within private client law or related fields.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—particularly Microsoft Word for document drafting; Excel for data management; Outlook for scheduling and correspondence.
Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—to liaise effectively with clients, attorneys, and external agencies.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Knowledge of legal terminology related to estate planning, probate procedures, trusts, and wealth management is preferred.
Familiarity with IT systems used for case management and document storage is advantageous.
Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are considered a plus.
