Fulham Pier Hotel is looking for a passionate, hands-on Assistant Operations Manager to become the Hotel Manager's right hand and play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our luxury boutique hotel.
This is not a desk-based management role. We are looking for someone who enjoys being at the heart of the operation, supporting the team, delivering exceptional guest experiences, solving problems, and helping the hotel continuously improve.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Hotel Manager across all aspects of the business, including operations, guest experience, reservations, commercial activity, team development, and project work. This role is ideal for an ambitious hospitality professional looking to develop into a future Hotel Manager position.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Guest Experience
- Support the day-to-day operation of the hotel and ensure exceptional service standards are maintained at all times.
- Act as Duty Manager when required, taking ownership of the guest experience and operational performance.
- Resolve guest concerns and service recovery situations professionally and effectively.
- Conduct regular quality checks throughout the hotel and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure all departments are operating efficiently and in line with company standards.
Team Leadership
- Lead by example and support the development of the hotel team.
- Assist with training, coaching, and onboarding new team members.
- Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational priorities.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and guest-focused culture.
Holiday & Shift Cover
- Provide operational cover during annual leave, sickness, and other periods of absence.
- Support Front Office, Guest Services, Reservations, and wider operational functions when required.
- Be flexible and willing to step into different areas of the business to ensure seamless operations.
Commercial & Reservations Support
- Assist with group bookings, corporate enquiries, and special requests.
- Support revenue opportunities through upselling, guest engagement, and attention to booking pace.
- Assist with reporting, forecasting, and operational administration.
- Support relationships with key partners, corporate clients, and local businesses.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Assist with sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotations, and managing operational projects.
- Support implementation of new systems, procedures, and efficiencies.
- Work closely with the Hotel Manager on commercial initiatives and business development opportunities.
- Identify areas where standards, guest satisfaction, or profitability can be improved.
