Branch Manager
The Role:
At Terminus Contract Hire, we are looking for a motivated and experienced Branch Manager to lead the daily operations of our vehicle rental branch. This is a hands-on management role requiring strong leadership, excellent organisational ability, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
You will be responsible for overseeing branch performance, managing staff, maintaining fleet operations, and ensuring an exceptional experience for both retail and corporate customers while driving business growth and operational efficiency.
Main Duties:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the branch and ensuring smooth workflow across all departments
- Leading, motivating, and developing branch staff to maintain high performance standards
- Managing recruitment, training, scheduling, and staff performance reviews
- Ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered at all times
- Handling customer enquiries, complaints, and escalated issues professionally and efficiently
- Overseeing vehicle scheduling, fleet availability, maintenance, inspections, and damage management
- Monitoring branch performance against targets, KPIs, and profitability goals
- Ensuring all rental agreements, financial transactions, and company documentation are completed accurately
- Producing operational reports and maintaining compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients and business partners
- Identifying opportunities to improve branch performance, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth
The Person:
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Hold a full UK driving licence and meet the criteria for company insurance
- Have previous management experience within the vehicle rental, automotive, logistics, or customer service industry
- Demonstrate strong leadership and people management skills
- Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Have strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Be confident working in a fast-paced environment and managing operational pressures
- Have experience working towards targets, KPIs, and business objectives

Responsibilities
- Manage daily branch operations, ensuring efficient vehicle rental processes and customer service standards are maintained
- Supervise and support branch staff, including training and performance management
- Handle administrative duties such as data entry, maintaining records using Microsoft Word and Excel, and processing rental agreements
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and liaise with maintenance teams to ensure fleet readiness
- Oversee inventory management and ensure the branch complies with safety regulations and company policies
- Utilise excellent phone etiquette to communicate with customers, suppliers, and team members effectively
- Assist in resolving customer queries or complaints promptly to uphold high levels of customer satisfaction
- Organise schedules, monitor branch performance metrics, and implement improvements where necessary
Experience
- Previous administrative experience within a customer service or rental environment is preferred
- Strong organisational skills with experience in data entry and record keeping using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual proficiency in Spanish is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team effectively and motivate staff towards achieving targets
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures is beneficial but not essential
- Experience in phone etiquette and providing exceptional customer service is highly valued
