Job Summary:
To be part of a team providing a professional Supervised Contact Service to enable children in care to have positive family time with their parents, siblings and relatives as outlined in their contact plan.
Minimum Level 3 in childcare (or equivalent), enhanced DBS, car and clean driving licence .
Principal Responsibilities:
To organise and deliver family time sessions in line with the requirements of each child’s contact plan.
To ensure that rooms and activities for contact sessions are booked and prepared in advance.
To provide care for children who arrive early or are late to be collected from family time.
To write a concise, factual report after each family time session in the approved format to be forwarded to the child’s social worker within the agreed time scales.
To ensure that all logs, diaries, and other records are completed correctly and kept up to date.
To maintain appropriate filing and other administrative systems.
To ensure that that all quality standards in relation to the Supervised Contact Service are met.
To compile written risk assessments where required.
To liaise with social workers, children, parents, carers and others involved in the provision of supervised family time as required.
To ensure that facilities and equipment are maintained in good condition and checked on a regular basis.
To ensure that toys, equipment, food and drink are cleared away at the end of family time sessions and that any cooking or eating utensils are cleaned and stored safely.

To work co-operatively with other members of staff to ensure the smooth running of the charity.
To be familiar with and adhere to Children First Derby’s policies and procedures.
To attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
To work in a non-discriminatory manner that demonstrates respect for all and to be proactive in ensuring equality of access to the charity and its services.
To work in a manner that minimises risk to the health and safety of all.
To maintain confidentiality in relation to all service users.
To carry out additional tasks as may be required from time to time by the Service Manager or Chief Executive.
