Marketing, Business Development & Office Administrator

About us
We are an established arborist and tree-care company with a newly created fencing division, and we're looking for an experienced, organised and proactive person to join our small team.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining digital marketing, business development, customer liaison and general office administration.
We're looking for someone who is happy to pick up the phone, research opportunities, make enquiries, manage our digital presence and get involved in the day-to-day running of the office.
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role is essential.
The role
Marketing & Digital
- Manage Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms
- Create and schedule content, graphics and marketing materials
- Update our websites and create/edit basic web pages
- Write and publish blogs and website content
- Manage SEO and local SEO
- Carry out keyword research and content development
- Monitor Google Search Console and website performance
- Manage and update Google Business Profiles
- Manage Google Ads/AdWords and monitor budgets, keywords, performance and enquiries
- Manage Mailchimp campaigns, mailing lists and newsletters
- Monitor online reviews and competitor activity
- Manage domains, hosting, DNS/IP information and SSL certificates
- Liaise with external website/IT providers where required
Experience with Joomla, WordPress, Canva, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Mailchimp and Meta Business Suite would be advantageous.
Business Development
A key part of the role will be actively identifying and pursuing opportunities for new work across both our arboricultural and fencing businesses.
This will include:
- Researching local businesses, organisations, property managers, estates and potential commercial customers
- Researching local authority/council lists and relevant databases
- Identifying developments, projects and areas where our services may be required
- Researching tender and contract opportunities
- Making outbound calls and introducing our services
- Sending introductory emails and targeted marketing letters
- Following up leads, enquiries and quotations
- Building and maintaining prospect lists
- Developing relationships with potential commercial customers
- Looking for new and creative ways to generate business
General Office Administration
- Answering the telephone and dealing with customer enquiries
- Customer liaison and email correspondence
- Scanning, printing and filing
- Organising paperwork and maintaining records
- Updating spreadsheets and trackers
- Data entry
- Preparing documents and correspondence
- Filing invoices and other paperwork
- Assisting with quotations, bookings and diary management
- Monitoring incoming enquiries
- Providing holiday cover
- General office administration and support
About you
You will ideally be:
- Experienced – at least 2 years in a similar role is essential
- Organised, reliable and able to manage a varied workload
- Confident using computers and different software systems
- Familiar with SEO, Google Ads and social media
- Comfortable writing website content and blogs
- Familiar with email marketing, ideally Mailchimp
- Confident speaking to customers and making outbound calls
- Proactive, commercially minded and good at finding opportunities
- Accurate and methodical with administration
- A good written and verbal communicator
- Comfortable working independently and using your own initiative

Hours
Full-time is preferred, with standard hours of 8:30am–5:00pm Monday to Friday, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Part-time will be considered for the right candidate, but Monday and Friday must be covered.
