Salary: Grade S3, OHC&AT London Fringe Business Support Scale, including London Weighting: £28,637 - £30,484 per annum

Working Pattern: 36hrs - 10:00am – 6:00pm, Monday - Thursday, 11:00am – 5:00pm Friday, 30 Minute lunch break (unpaid)

We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Academy Facilities Assistant / Driver to join the team at our school to ensure our school premises are well-maintained, safe, and fully operational. As the facilities assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining and managing the school's facilities to ensure they are safe, welcoming, and fit for purpose. This is an essential role where you'll be assisting with the day-to-day operations of the site, managing preventive preplanned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring health and safety compliance, and supporting the smooth running of school activities and events. Your work will directly contribute to creating a positive learning environment for both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the school’s buildings and grounds ensuring the site is fully compliant.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met through regular inspections and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with contractors for repairs and maintenance.
- Assist in maintaining site security and manage access to the buildings.
- Assist with the setup and support of school events and activities.
- Respond to emergency repairs as needed.
- Covering of the routine cleaning duties (emptying bins, routine cleaning of designated areas, replenishing consumables, responding to spillages etc.).
- Driving of the Minibus at the request of the school including daily vehicle checks, reporting defects and helping ensure the minibuses remains compliant.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in site management or facilities management, ideally in a school or educational setting
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of health, safety, building maintenance, and environmental regulations
- Ability to work independently and manage your time efficiently
