Job Title: Shellfish Processing Supervisor
Location: Eyemouth, Scottish Borders
Contract Type: Permanent, 40 hours per week (plus overtime)
Working Hours: Shifts typically fall between 6am and 6pm. Saturday working may be required during busy periods.
Salary: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, proactive supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the crab hall in our busy shellfish processing factory. In this role, you will lead and motivate the team, ensuring products are prepared, processed, and packed efficiently while maintaining strict health, safety, hygiene, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and supervise the team to ensure daily tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
- Work closely with other teams to ensure clear communication and smooth daily operations, resolving operational issues promptly.
- Plan and organise work schedules to ensure the factory is fully prepared for production runs.
- Oversee fresh crab productions, including washing, weighing, basketing, correct storage, and full traceability.
- Monitor and enforce strict compliance with food safety, health and safety, hygiene standards, and factory cleaning protocols.
- Accurately complete all production documentation, record keeping, and administrative duties in line with company procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience in a fast-paced food processing or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- A proactive, hands-on supervisory approach with a willingness to work alongside the team and support operational tasks.
- A good understanding of hygiene standards, with a commitment to always following food safety and quality procedures.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.
- Highly organised, reliable, and punctual with excellent time management.
- A positive attitude, a strong willingness to learn, and flexibility to support evolving business needs.
