Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant/Support Worker to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to provide essential support to individuals in care homes and in their own homes, ensuring they receive high-quality care tailored to their needs. The successful candidate will be committed to promoting well-being, independence, and dignity for all service users. A valid driving licence and good communication skills are desirable to facilitate effective service delivery across various settings.
Duties
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Support individuals with daily activities in accordance with personalised care plans
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any changes in the service user's condition
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Assist with light domestic tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance quality of life
- Drive between different locations for home care visits, where applicable
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a care environment
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Driving skills and a valid driving licence are advantageous for supporting home care roles
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for those new to the sector
- Knowledge of care plans and understanding of individualised support needs is beneficial
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others
Pay: £29,420.00-£34,528.25 per year
