We're recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a prestigious Central London site, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a large, critical estate. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Engineer with electrical knowledge who enjoys working within a professional 24/7 engineering team.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a vital role in keeping essential building services safe, compliant and fully operational.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer, you will:
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical building services.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on critical plant and equipment.
- Support power distribution systems, lighting, motor controls, standby generators, control systems, inverters and fire alarm/PA systems.
- Identify equipment defects before they become major failures.
- Work within a professional 24/7 shift team to maintain a high-profile London estate.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with compliance procedures.
Ideal.
To be considered for this Mechanical Engineer position, you'll ideally have:
- Recognised Craft Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- City & Guilds Craft Certificate, ONC or equivalent.
- Mechanical Engineering qualification (C&G Level 3 HVAC/Mechanical Engineering desirable).
- Experience within commercial building maintenance, critical environments or facilities management.
- Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Security Clearance Requirements
Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance.
Applicants should have:
- Eligibility to obtain BPSS, leading to DV Clearance.
- A stable employment history.
- A minimum 10-year UK footprint.
- No dual citizenship.
- No unexplained employment gaps.
- No criminal convictions.
Please note that applicants with significant overseas ties may not be suitable due to security clearance requirements.
