You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject area Or you will have equivalent experience in a relevant subject area such as project management or data analysis preferably gained in, the waste and resource management sector.
You will positively and actively undertake projects and/or programmes necessary for the delivery of strategic priorities in terms of the planning and efficient service delivery of waste and recycling collection methodologies, as well as wider departmental initiatives, in order to contribute to the on-going development of Environmental Strategy within Neighbourhood Services for Dundee City Council. Post holder must also provide guidance and advice on national and local recycling and Zero Waste issues, Statutory returns and promotional & educational work, as well as support to management by identifying and implementing strategic and operational improvements to a range of environmental services within Environmental Strategy, under the guidance of the Senior Waste Policy Officer and Service Manager - Waste Management.
You will have experience of IT based data recording and processing systems and experience of service change/improvement review. Experience of representing employer on internal/external groups and good knowledge of the Zero Waste agenda and associated regulatory requirements is essential. You will have financial management and project management experience, preferably gained within the waste/recycling sector. You will be IT literate with excellent organisational and development, communication and workload co-ordinating skills, ie report writing and public liaison along with good analytical skills, including verbal and numerical reasoning and problem solving. You will have experience of report writing and providing presentations and the ability to co-ordinate staff workloads. You will have full driving licence and the ability to lift\carry boxes\ equipment a reasonable distance (uphill, up stairs).
