Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Dispenser to join our Pharmacy team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations by accurately dispensing medications and providing excellent patient care. Duties
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with pharmacy protocols and legal requirements
- Assist pharmacists with medication administration and patient consultations where appropriate
- Prepare and label medication packages, ensuring all details are correct and legible
- Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and stock levels
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries, offering medication guidance, and supporting health education initiatives
- Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety standards at all times
- Support inventory management, including stock checks and reordering supplies as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient treatment plans
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or dispenser (essential minimum 1 year)
- NVQ 2 Qualified in Pharmacy Dispensing Services (desirable)
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
- Strong understanding of patient care principles within a healthcare setting
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to minimise errors
- Good communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and colleagues
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience with MDS/Blister Packs are required
- Basic Microsoft Office/IT skills are necessary (training will be provided on internal software)
- Ability to drive is essential
Monday to Friday - 5 Days a Week for 20-25 hours
