We are looking for an experienced and reliable Chef to join the team at Palm Lounge in Bournemouth.
Palm Lounge is a busy restaurant and lounge serving a varied menu including burgers, wraps, stone-baked pizzas, grilled chicken, Arabic dishes, starters and sides. We are looking for someone who can work confidently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food to Palm Lounge recipes and presentation standards
- Work across different sections of the kitchen, including the grill, fryer and pizza station
- Ensure orders are prepared quickly, accurately and consistently during busy periods
- Carry out food preparation before and during service
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times
- Follow food safety procedures, including correct storage, labelling and temperature controls
- Monitor stock levels and minimise unnecessary food waste
- Keep kitchen equipment and work areas clean and organised
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure orders are served efficiently
- Assist with opening, closing and kitchen cleaning duties
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as a chef or cook in a busy restaurant or takeaway environment
- Confident working with grills, fryers and general commercial kitchen equipment
- Able to work quickly under pressure without compromising food quality
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Experience preparing Middle Eastern food, grilled dishes and pizzas would be an advantage, but training on our menu and preparation methods will be provided.
