We provide specialist case management services to adults and children following personal injury and clinical negligence, working closely with solicitors, professional deputies, insurers, families and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate rehabilitation and support that is tailored to each client's individual circumstances. The Opportunity
As an Associate Brain Injury Case Manager, you will manage your own caseload of clients with complex rehabilitation needs, coordinating multidisciplinary rehabilitation programmes and supporting clients and their families throughout the rehabilitation process.
You will work closely with treating clinicians, therapists, solicitors, professional deputies and other professionals to ensure rehabilitation programmes are delivered effectively and that clients receive the support they need to maximise their independence and achieve meaningful, measurable outcomes.
This is a home-based associate position involving regular travel to clients within your geographical area.
We believe excellent case management relies upon professional judgement, continuity and strong relationships. Our aim is to provide our associates with the support they need whilst allowing them the autonomy to practise confidently and independently.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience in one of the following professions:
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Mental Health Nursing
- Speech and Language Therapy
- Or another relevant healthcare profession
- Current registration with the appropriate statutory professional regulator (IRCM, HCPC, NMC, Social Work England or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience working with adults and/or children with acquired brain injury or other complex neurological conditions
- Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, and report writing skills
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to work independently whilst recognising when advice or support is required
- A private and secure home office
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
The following would be advantageous:
- Membership of recognised professional organisations such as IRCM, CMSUK or BABICM
- Previous experience within medico-legal case management
- Experience working with clients who have sustained catastrophic injury, complex trauma or polytrauma
- Understanding of safeguarding legislation and the Mental Capacity Act
- Advanced safeguarding training or equivalent experience
- Experience preparing reports for solicitors, professional deputies, insurers, and the Court
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking comprehensive assessments of clients' rehabilitation, care and support needs
- Developing, implementing and reviewing individual case management programmes
- Coordinating multidisciplinary rehabilitation focused on achieving agreed functional outcomes
- Working closely with clients, families, treating clinicians and other professionals to facilitate effective rehabilitation
- Preparing clear, objective and evidence-based case management reports with practical recommendations and measurable goals
- Monitoring progress and adapting rehabilitation plans to reflect changing needs and circumstances
- Liaising with solicitors, professional deputies, healthcare providers, education providers, employers and statutory agencies
- Undertaking risk screening and developing proportionate risk management plans to promote client safety whilst supporting positive risk-taking and independence
- Identifying risk, ensuring appropriate safeguarding arrangements are in place and supporting positive risk management where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential case records
- Advocating on behalf of clients to ensure they receive appropriate rehabilitation, services and support
Successful associates will develop trusted relationships with clients and professional referrers, deliver high-quality case management, produce clear and well-reasoned reports and become valued members of our growing professional network.
Associate Status
This is an Associate position. Associates are responsible for maintaining their own professional registration, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), mandatory training, DBS certificate and appropriate Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.
