Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and excellent organisational skills, with a background in retail or sales management. Duties
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth functioning throughout the day
- Supervise and motivate team members, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional development
- Manage sales targets and implement merchandising strategies to optimise product presentation and maximise revenue
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing enquiries professionally via phone and in person, maintaining high standards of phone etiquette
- Coordinate staff schedules, organise rotas, and ensure adequate coverage during shifts
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees to uphold organisational standards
- Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, and ensure displays are well-maintained and organised
- Analyse sales data and prepare reports for senior management to inform strategic decisions
- Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining records, processing paperwork, and managing correspondence efficiently
Requirements
- Proven management experience within retail or sales environments, including supervising teams and overseeing daily operations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly advantageous for engaging with a broad customer base
- Organisational skills with a keen eye for detail in merchandising, stock control, and administrative duties
- Demonstrated time management capabilities to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Experience in retail management or related fields such as sales management or merchandising is preferred
- Proficiency in organisational tools, with strong administrative experience including record keeping and reporting
- Exceptional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for professional interaction with customers and staff alike
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving
Pay: £33,000.00-£35,500.00 per year
