Response Logistics are Manchester's premier distribution company for pallet collections and deliveries across UK and Ireland. Based in Ashton-under-Lyne, we are part of a multi pallet network with over 90+ depots across the country to service customers collection and delivery requirements.
Job description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, Depot Manager with a Transport Management CPC with Pallet Network Experience to join our growing business, which moves freight efficiently throughout the UK and Ireland. This established role provides the structure needed to support the company’s continued growth and future expansion. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the depot, including day-to-day operations, transport, site management and facilities. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring that the company fleet records are compliant and in-line with UK Haulage laws and legislations.
- Ensuring that the Operations Manager & Department meets all required KPI's & is functioning to an efficient standard.
- Managing day-to-day issues and queries from the Operations Manager/department where required.
- Managing escalated complaints with other depots within the Network and from the general public.
- Preparing staff hours for payroll processing
- Be the onsite lead for health and safety, site security and facility maintenance
- Managing depot expenditure responsibly and understand P&L and budgetary issues.
- Being available outside of working hours for escalated calls/issues.

The working hours are based on 45 hrs work a week, but the right candidate need to be fully flexible to work additional hours and different shift times in line with the business’s needs and operational requirements.
You will be at a distinct advantage with:
- Previous experience managing at a pallet network depot
- Previous experience listed on an a operators licence
- Managing a site and staff headcount of 20+ staff members
- Experience in handling HR directly
- Experience in leading KPI’s and performance
- Experience in standard operating procedures or process creation and management
- Experience in a commercial setting within transport
