Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring smooth operation at the counter. Responsibilities
- Serve customers promptly and courteously at the counter, taking orders and processing payments accurately
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items meet quality and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, including sanitising surfaces and utensils
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing excellent customer service
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently, including handling cash transactions and assisting with stock replenishment
- Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Support kitchen staff during busy periods by preparing ingredients or assisting with basic cooking tasks
- Ensure all customer interactions are positive, friendly, and professional
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or restaurant service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Previous kitchen or culinary experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance customer experience and sales performance
- Good team player with a proactive attitude towards work responsibilities
