About the Role
You will be working as a Team Leader in our 4 bedded Children’s short-term placement service providing a safe, nurturing space for young people as they transition to finding their forever home.
We offer tailored therapeutic support, helping them build trust, resilience, and emotional well-being. Our child-centred approach ensures they feel valued and understood, while also guiding families through the transition. By creating stability and positive relationships, we help young people move forward with confidence towards a brighter future.
You will be caring for Children up to 18yrs old. The service provides care and support for individuals who have;
- Autism & ADHD
- Sensory and physical needs
- Emotional and behavioural challenges
Many of our young people have experienced trauma or neglect, so your role as Residential Support Worker is vital in helping them feel safe, valued and supported.
As a Team Leader, you will assist the management team in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children and young people.
This is a hands’ on, shift based role. You will be leading the shift and supervising staff whilst still providing direct support to the young people in your care.
Your day could include:
- Shift leading and supervising staff whilst still providing direct support to the young people in your care.
- Staff supervisions and Audits.
- Liaising with GPs, schools and family members.
- Supporting daily routines and independence skills
- Taking young people to school, appointments and community activities
- Creating fun, engaging experiences
- Building trusted, positive relationships
- Supporting behaviour positively and safely
Flexible Working Patterns
- You will be working 10 hr shifts
- Rota includes working every other weekend
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who genuinely care and want to make a difference.
Requirements:
- 2 - 5 years exp in Childrens Residential Setting
- Level 4 in Children & Young People (or equivalent)
- Experience with learning disabilities / complex needs / Trauma
- Strong safeguarding knowledge / Risk
- Practice Leadership on Shift - on the spot coaching, mentoring and support
- Ability to Shift Lead - Role model positive practice
- Compliance and Quality knowledge and oversight
You’ll also be:
- Compassionate, patient and resilient
- A strong communicator with good written skills
- Confident in managing challenging situations
- A team player who can also use their own initiative
- Someone who brings energy, ideas and positivity
Driving licence preferred (but not essential)
