Warehouse & Logistics Manager
Salary: Competitive – £60,000 per year (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00–16:00 (flexibility required to meet business needs)

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse & Logistics Manager to oversee the day-to-day management, coordination and development of all warehouse, goods in/out, yard and logistics activities.
This is a hands-on operational role. You will lead warehouse and despatch teams to ensure efficient material flow, support production schedules, meet customer delivery requirements and contribute to overall business performance.
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, stock accuracy, housekeeping, service levels and continuous improvement. The role works closely with Production, Engineering, Technical and Senior Leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear leadership and direction to warehouse teams
- Promote a positive, team-focused culture aligned with company values
- Oversee goods in, storage, stock control and despatch
- Ensure correct stock rotation (FIFO), traceability and accurate stock recording
- Reconcile customer orders accurately prior to despatch
- Monitor KPIs including stock accuracy, waste, damage, service levels and labour utilisation
- Drive continuous improvement across warehouse processes
- Manage recruitment, training, performance and absence
- Conduct return-to-work meetings, investigations and performance discussions
- Ensure appropriate shift coverage and labour planning
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across all warehouse areas
- Ensure safe forklift operations and authorised operators
- Work with Technical to maintain BRCGS and food safety standards
- Support internal and external audits
- Oversee warehouse administration and despatch documentation
- Manage delivery documentation, transport and carrier arrangements
- Ensure packing work instructions are followed and maintained
- Work with Procurement to ensure packing materials availability
- Identify risks, defects, delays or inefficiencies in inbound/outbound processes
- Maintain accurate stock system control and reporting
- Analyse data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Report and follow up on equipment maintenance needs
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant warehouse experience (food manufacturing preferred)
- Previous management experience in warehouse and logistics
- Strong understanding of stock control and warehouse systems
- Counterbalance forklift licence (essential)
- Reach truck licence (preferred)
- Good standard of education
- Food Hygiene Level 2 or above (preferred)
