Job Summary
We are working with an independent opticians in East London who are seeking a highly organised and experienced Dispensing Optician Manager to take on the role of practice manager. You will manage the day-to-day running of the practice, working independently for much of the week and playing a key role in helping the business grow. The successful candidate will need to be commercially minded, proactive and confident working independently.
- 5 days per week (9:30am-5:30pm, lunch 30 mins)
- Must be fully registered with the GOC
- Monthly performance related bonus
This role will be on a temp-to-perm basis, with the initial 4 weeks being locum shifts, the permanent role will be offered on successful completion of the 4 week trial. The rate for this will be £160 per day.
Responsibilities
- Independently managing the day-to-day running of the practice.
- Opening and closing the practice.
- Managing the appointment diary.
- Booking appointments and contacting recall patients.
- Dispensing spectacles.
- Spectacle adjustments, repairs and aftercare.
- Completing NHS paperwork accurately.
- Preparing clinics.
- Reviewing patient records after clinics to ensure they are complete and identifying where further detail may be required from the optometrist.
- Supporting clinical governance and maintaining high documentation standards.
- Undertaking local marketing and leaflet distribution.
- Generating new patients.
- Encouraging Google reviews.
- Ordering stock.
- Banking and cash reconciliation.
- Maintaining the overall presentation and cleanliness of the practice, including daily hoovering, dusting frames and shelving, cleaning equipment and ensuring the practice always looks professional.
- Wearing smart professional business attire at all times.
Experience
- Qualified on the GOC register as a Dispensing Optician
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Dispensing Optician
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with patients, suppliers, and healthcare professionals.
Pay: £32,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
