About the Role
We’re looking for a patient-focused Optometrist to join a welcoming and well-established practice in the heart of Alresford.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical and dispensing
- Provide high-quality spectacle dispensing, including frame selection, lens recommendations, and accurate measurements
- Deliver confident 3-way handovers with the Optometrist to ensure seamless patient journeys
- Manage frame adjustments, repairs (including hearing aids), and rechecks/non-tolerances, resolving concerns promptly and escalating appropriately
- Manage spectacle orders by liaising with suppliers for delayed orders and ensuring accuracy in focimetry and fitting
- Ensure accurate and compliant administration, maintaining thorough clinical records and meeting GDPR/data protection requirements
- Support and supervise a student Dispensing Optician where required
Leadership and management
- Act as a positive ambassador, promoting company values and a commitment to excellent patient care
- Oversee daily branch operations, including opening/closing procedures, alarm systems, cashing up, banking, and keyholder duties
- Line manage the team, approve holiday, and work with HR on rota changes and staffing levels
- Carry out performance and rolling reviews to support training, development, and reward recognition
What We’re Looking For
- GOC registered Optometrist
- Degree in Optometry or equivalent qualification
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Patient-centred and professional approach
- Team player with excellent organisational skills
- Community practice experience preferred
- Additional accreditations such as GRR or Post Cataract beneficial
