Due to an increase in enquiries, SENsational Tutors Ltd are actively looking for highly experienced teachers with QTS to deliver engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions for autistic students with complex needs on a 1:1 basis. Please find an overview of general information below:
- Roles from 15+ hours per week (usually 15 to 35 hours per week);
- Hourly rate: usually from £63 per hour to £70 per hour (* tutors are self-employed and able to set their own hourly rates);
- Location: Buckinghamshire and London (and other locations in the UK)
You will need to:
- Deliver tailored teaching activities to students on a one-to-one basis;
- Plan and prepare lessons in accordance with students’ unique needs;
- Assess and monitor students’ work and feedback to parents and other professionals/ individuals;
- Help students that you support engage in learning;
- Support and assess the social and emotional development of students, reporting any issues as necessary;
- Supervise student safety;
- Any other tasks requested by your client/s.

For this role you will need:
- QTS;
- A proven record of being able to heighten pupil's confidence, trust, self-esteem and love of learning;
- At least 5 years' experience teaching and assessing children with SEN (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, ADD, PDA, dysgraphia, and global developmental delay) in schools;
- At least 2 years' experience working with children who have experienced trauma;
- 100% passion for education, commitment, reliability and honesty;
- To creatively apply differentiated techniques to planning and teaching;
- Excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills;
- Incredible patience;
- An excellent knowledge of different learning styles and how to use these;
- The ability to deal with possible behaviour issues;
- The ability to work flexibly and attend meetings outside hours if necessary;
- To be a team-worker;
- A valid enhanced DBS check on the update service;
- A willingness to apply for public liability and professional indemnity insurance;
- Register to work as self-employed.
