As the business continues to go from strength to strength, we have an excellent opportunity for a driven and ambitious individual to join the team and help further develop our growing London Region. This role covers the east area of Greater London, cover from Romford in the North to Croydon in the South. The current most central role will be Aldgate and it will also have responsibility for our branch in Dartford.
Made up of 35 branches and a strong team of colleagues, this role will take responsibility for 15 of these branches, working alongside another Regional Operations Manager (ROM) who oversees the remainder of the Region. Together you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and progressing our legacy of being the decorator’s first choice.
Initially the role will be known as “Regional Operations Manager - Designate” to give the colleague the opportunity to get to know the business and the role in the first six months. After the successful completion of the probation period, the colleague will become the Regional Operations Manager and take on the full breadth of this varied and interesting role.
Deputising for the Regional Manager when required, you will be well versed in all matters relating to the smooth running of the Region. This role is instrumental in ensuring the Region is consistently achieving high levels of customer satisfaction through operational excellence. Working closely with the RM, you will deliver this vision by leading implementing key operational work with a specific focus on people, development, processes, systems, stock management, merchandising and store presentation.
Alongside the RM, ROM and Branch Managers you will work with particular focus on Company KPI’s, supporting commercial decision making by identifying areas for improvement/development as well as agreeing and communicating action plans. Supporting Region wide development, coaching Branch Managers and colleagues to deliver business plans and sales targets while empowering them to lead their teams effectively.

The role is primarily Monday to Friday with the occasional requirement to work Saturday’s or evenings to provide cover to attend customer events.
To succeed in this role, you will need:

Proven experience in retail management across multiple locations, with a background that demonstrates strong commercial and people leadership skills

Ability to interpret and manage P&L statements, KPIs and other commercial metrics

Solid knowledge of stock management and logistics, improving availability while controlling costs

Experience in key people processes such as recruitment, absence, disciplinaries and capability management

A background of advocating for the development of others, with experience motivating and coaching individuals

Strong initiative, adaptability and complex problem solving skills

Confident communicator who is able to engage at all levels

Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
