Kitchen Porter/Assistant
We are currently recruiting for a full-time (40 hours) Kitchen Porter to join our team at Nor’ Loft, located in Market Street hotel. This would be a key role within the team, ensuring the cleanliness and daily efficiency of the kitchen is to the highest level.
Passion and knowledge about food and ingredients are an essential base for working in the kitchen. The menu revolves around a sharing concept of seasonal smaller plates, complementing our extensive champagne & wine list. In our open plan kitchen, you will have personality in abundance to interact with our guests, be well presented and have the ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring basic cleaning jobs are carried out to an exceptionally high standard in and
- around the kitchen, following the guidelines as set out by the head chef.
- Washing all dishes, pots and pans, crockery & cutlery.
- Taking direction from Senior chefs and assisting the chefs with basic preparation of
some food items.
- Maintaining appropriate levels of Food Safety and Hygiene
- Breakfast buffet setup and replenishment, under guidance from the chefs
- Learning knife and organisational skills
- Receiving of goods and putting deliveries away, while ensuring proper stock rotation.
Role Requirements:
- Must have a valid right to work in the United Kingdom
- Flexibility is a must as you will be required to cover shifts over the weekends
- Offer of employment is subject to satisfactory reference checks.
Hours of Work:
- This is full time role, working a maximum 48 hours per week with a mixture of shifts.
- Flexibility is a must as you will be required to cover shifts over the weekends.
- Ideal for student or part-time professional.
- Ad-hoc availability might be required to provide holiday cover – subject to availability or visa requirements.
Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour, you get paid for every hour you work, with an additional share of tips.
