We are looking for a caring and dependable Newborn Care Assistant / Newborn Care Specialist to provide exceptional support to families in Sheffield. This role is about more than childcare—you will be a trusted presence who helps create a calm, safe, and nurturing environment for newborns while supporting parents with confidence and reassurance.
You will provide hands-on newborn care, assist with daily routines, and help families establish healthy habits during the early stages of their baby’s development. We are looking for someone who combines professional newborn care knowledge with patience, compassion, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Newborn Care Support:
Provide safe, attentive, and nurturing care for newborn babies, including feeding support, nappy changes, soothing, and comfort techniques.
Sleep & Routine Assistance:
Support families with establishing healthy newborn routines, including sleep patterns, settling techniques, and daily care schedules.
Parent Support:
Provide reassurance, guidance, and practical support to parents while respecting their individual preferences and parenting approach.
Baby Safety & Wellbeing:
Monitor newborn needs, follow safe care practices, and maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
Communication & Updates:
Keep parents informed about newborn routines, feeding patterns, sleep progress, and any observations regarding the baby’s wellbeing.
Professional Care Standards:
Maintain confidentiality, reliability, and a high standard of service when supporting families.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
Previous experience caring for newborns, infants, or young children. Experience as a newborn care assistant, maternity nurse, night nanny, childcare assistant, nursery practitioner, or infant caregiver is highly valued.
Newborn Knowledge:
Understanding of newborn care, feeding support, safe sleep practices, infant development, and early parenting needs.
Personal Qualities:
You are patient, calm, trustworthy, compassionate, and able to provide dependable support during a sensitive time for families.
Communication Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and build positive relationships with parents.
Availability:
Reliable availability and commitment to providing consistent, high-quality newborn care support.

Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
