Nursing Assistant
Reports to: Nurse on Duty / Senior Nurse
We are looking for a caring, reliable and motivated Nursing Assistant to join our team and work alongside our nurses and care staff to provide safe, high-quality, person-centred care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside the nurse and wider care team to provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
- Support the nurse with medication rounds and clinical duties, working within your training and competency.
- Accompany and assist the nurse with GP rounds, healthcare professional visits and clinical reviews.
- Complete and support with clinical observations, reporting any concerns or changes in residents' health and wellbeing.
- Assist with care planning, reviews and accurate care documentation.
- Provide basic clinical care, including wound care, catheter care and other delegated nursing duties where trained and competent.
- Support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and other daily living needs.
- Promote residents' privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment.
- Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
- Recognise and report changes in residents' condition, behaviour or wellbeing promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure care is delivered in accordance with care plans and company procedures.
- Support a safe, clean, comfortable and welcoming environment.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, care assistants and the wider team to ensure residents receive the highest standard of care.
- Attend required training and maintain the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out the role safely and effectively.
- Follow all relevant safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, confidentiality and company policies.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the effective running of the home.
