Emmaus Leadership have been retained by the Archdiocese of Liverpool to manage the appointment of a new Director of Education within the diocese.
This is a pivotal time in Catholic education within the Archdiocese as demonstrated by:
- A newly formed Education function that brings together schools and colleges and our Christian Education teams, as we embark upon the development of a new strategic vision.
- The recent launch of our first Archdiocesan MAT, as well as working closely with the DfE in the development of a new innovative MAT for Catholic schools.
- Archdiocesan Synod 2020 - the culmination of a 3-year listening and engagement process leading to a new pastoral plan for the Archdiocese, with an expected special focus on the life of our schools and parishes.
- A structural re-organisation across all functions within the Archdiocese to better support the Archbishop and Trustees in the mission of the Church has largely been completed, with the Director of Education now a key member of a new executive team.
You will be a practising Catholic with substantial experience of working successfully at a senior level in education, including senior management responsibility within a school/academy, college or a local authority. Headship and/or demonstrable school improvement experience across more than one school (Primary and/or Secondary) and a strong grasp of current educational issues (including CMATs evolving role within the parish, diocese and local community) a distinct advantage.
Now is a moment of real opportunity within the educational and catholic life of the Archdiocese, which makes this post an extremely attractive and rewarding career opportunity.
