Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team, providing compassionate support and care to residents in care homes specialising in senior care. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents, working closely with healthcare professionals and family members. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support the implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
- Monitor residents’ health and report any changes or concerns to senior staff
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring accuracy and safety
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all residents
- Supervise and mentor junior staff or new team members as required
- Engage in meaningful communication with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure holistic care
- Support residents during social activities and encourage participation to promote mental well-being
- Assist with transportation of residents when necessary, including driving duties if qualified
Skills
- Proven experience working in a care home or senior care environment is preferred
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities are highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and colleagues
- Ability to develop and follow care plans accurately and compassionately
- Good IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation duties
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others
- Organised approach to managing multiple responsibilities within a busy environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Zero hours contract
Pay: Up to £12.51 per hour
