Finance Assistant

Salary: Upto £27,500 depending on experience

The Role
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team, providing day-to-day financial administration and operational support across the Kisimul Group. You will play an important role in ensuring financial processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with company policies and procedures.
You'll work closely with colleagues across the Finance team, supporting transactional finance activities including purchase ledger, sales ledger, expenses, banking, and petty cash. You will help maintain accurate financial records, meet key deadlines, and provide excellent support to managers and colleagues across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly company card payment returns, ensuring all information is complete and accurately recorded within Equals Money.
- Process weekly petty cash returns, ensuring all documentation is complete and submitted within agreed timescales.
- Post transactions across company bank accounts, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Chase outstanding receipts and banking information, escalating to relevant managers where required.
- Raise sales orders for the monthly invoice run, preparing documentation for review by the Billing & Credit Control Supervisor.
- Provide annual leave cover for sales receipt transactions.
- Process purchase ledger invoices and associated paperwork accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Complete cyclical supplier statement reconciliations on a quarterly basis.
- Ensure all purchase ledger documentation is processed in line with month-end deadlines.
- Prepare and support payment runs in accordance with company procedures.
- Support colleagues with expense claims, providing guidance on company policy and ensuring claims are accurate and compliant.
- Prepare expense payment runs in line with scheduled payment cycles.
- Provide day-to-day administrative and financial support to the Accountant and wider Finance team, including providing cover for colleagues where required.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure documentation is filed and retained in line with company procedures.
- Identify personal training and development needs and participate in appropriate learning opportunities.
- Adhere to the Employee Handbook and all company policies and procedures, particularly those relating to Health & Safety and safeguarding.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Financial Accounting Manager.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working in a finance or accounts administration role.
- Experience of purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking or transactional finance processes.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial procedures.
- Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise professionally with colleagues and suppliers.
- Proactive, reliable, and willing to support the wider Finance team when required.
High levels of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.

Desirable
- AAT Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
- Previous experience using finance systems and expense management platforms such as Equals Money.
Experience working within a multi-site organisation or care, education, or healthcare environment would be advantageous
