Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Carer to provide exceptional in-home care for clients requiring assistance with daily activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting individuals with various health and personal needs, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with clients in a personalised setting, fostering independence and dignity. Flexible working weeks, with guaranteed breaks. Duties
- Assist with personal care routines, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with medication administration in accordance with prescribed schedules
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and preferences
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
- Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's care
- Provide mobility assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary, and support safe transfers
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required
- Monitor health status and report any changes to healthcare professionals or family members
- Maintain a clean and organised living environment for the client
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness
Experience
- Proven experience in assisted living, home care, or caregiving roles
- Background in patient care within nursing homes or hospice settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's, dementia, and senior care best practices
- Skills in behaviour management and handling challenging situations with sensitivity
- First aid certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided if necessary
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation duties
- Experience in childcare or caring for individuals with special needs is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks
