Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Co-ordinator to join our dedicated team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in a care home specialising in senior care. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing residents' quality of life through tailored programmes that promote socialisation, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments is highly desirable. Duties
- Plan, organise, and facilitate a variety of engaging activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, music sessions, games, and outings.
- Assess individual resident needs and preferences to develop personalised activity programmes that promote socialisation and cognitive engagement.
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with residents’ care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of activities undertaken and residents’ participation levels.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, respecting their individual needs and cultural backgrounds.
- Support residents during activities to ensure safety and enjoyment at all times.
- Keep the activity areas organised, welcoming, and safe for all participants.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a nursing home setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of older adults through meaningful activity engagement.
- Organisational skills to plan and execute diverse programmes efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality care.
