About the Role
As a Cook, you will be responsible for planning and preparing balanced, appetising meals for our residents, ensuring that individual dietary needs, preferences, and cultural requirements are met. You will help create a welcoming dining experience that promotes wellbeing and enjoyment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious breakfasts, lunches, evening meals, and desserts.
- Plan menus in consultation with residents and management.
- Cater for special diets, allergies, and modified-texture meals as required.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
- Monitor food stock levels and place orders when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain accurate records.
- Work effectively as part of a dedicated care home team.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience as a Cook, ideally within a care home, healthcare, or catering environment.
- A good understanding of nutritional needs for older adults.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety procedures.
- A current Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above) is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A warm, friendly approach and a genuine commitment to enhancing residents’ quality of life.
