£19,208 - £20,897 (24 Hours per week)
Dalweem Residential Home, Aberfeldy
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Care Officer within Dalweem Care Home, a service for older people providing permanent and respite care.
As a Social Care Officer you will have the opportunity to put the residents care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do. Promoting independence, dignity and quality of life at all times in a person centred caring and supportive environment.
Duties will also include assisting with daily activities, providing residents with both physical and emotional support and personal care as needed.
You will be required to administer medication, assist with developing support plans and carry out reviews to achieve desired outcomes.
We operate a 12 hour shift pattern and on a 6 week rota pattern and you will work 2 weeks of night duty and 4 weeks of day duty.
Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this post.
We require a truly caring person with a good sense of humour who can build and maintain a good rapport with the residents and their families of those in your care.
This is an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy going that extra mile and who are friendly and enthusiastic about caring for others and can lead by example. A genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people is essential.
The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and appreciate the needs, wishes and aspirations of older people and how best to support them and their carer's in the care home setting.
No entry requirement in terms of qualification. However, you are required and will be supported to work towards SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 7 (was SVQ3).
You will be required to register with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home service. If you are not yet registered, you can still apply, as long as you are willing to apply for registration within 3 months of starting with us and be registered within 6 months.
Our values and behaviours influence our work and support us in the delivery of our key priorities. In your application, and should you be invited to interview, you will be asked to describe situations that support the criteria required in the role and which also demonstrate our values and behaviours.
