The post holder is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the integrated safeguarding team at East Cheshire NHS Trust. The team consists of named and specialist professionals within adult, children and maternity safeguarding. Due to the nature of the role, the post holder will therefore view highly sensitive and emotive information and reports within the safeguarding arena.
The post holder should have efficient IT skills in order to maintain databases, transcribe minutes from meetings and use various patient information systems.
The post holder will demonstrate an ability to communicate with a range of people on complex safeguarding matters and issues and will be able to provide minutes of meetings. The person will also be expected to meet specified timescales / deadlines and be able to work unsupervised.
Hours per week: 30.00

Provide an administrative secretarial and clerical service to support the safeguarding team ensuring that letters, e-mails and reports are accurately produced within agreed timescales, data is input to required standards and an electronic filing and retrieval system is maintained.
Possess a knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
Responsible for the processing of incoming and outgoing correspondence including prioritising, tracking, sorting and transferring as necessary.
Maintain and update appointment diaries, message books to assist efficient operation within the Safeguarding Team.
Arrange meetings, workshops, training events, conferences.
Produce and distribute training materials and informative literature for the service
Contribute to the ordering of stationery supplies and associated procedures.
Participate in the local induction of new staff.
Recognise and respond appropriately to the urgency of situations, reporting concerns to the Head of Safeguarding, Named Nurses / Nurse Specialists.
Maintain and update the Safeguarding websites.
Contribute to the effective and efficient use of resources.
Contribute to the continued improvement and quality of the Administrative Support Service.
To undertake any other delegated duties as appropriate and commensurate with the post.
