Job Overview
The Hose Assembly Technician is responsible for the manufacture, assembly, and testing of hydraulic hose products to meet customer specifications and quality standards. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently to meet production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Hose Assembly & Manufacturing
- Manufacture hydraulic hose assemblies to specification, including cutting, fitting, and crimping.
- Interpret works orders, technical drawings, and customer requirements accurately.
- Select correct hose types, fittings, and components for each job.
- Operate hose cutting, skiving, and crimping machinery safely and effectively.
- Ensure all assemblies meet required quality and performance standards.
- Assist with measuring loose hose for picking/goods inwards.
- Monitor Microsoft Teams regularly and respond to incoming messages and requests.
- Assist with anything else requested by your supervisor or the management team.
Quality Control
- Inspect completed hose assemblies for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Perform pressure testing where required.
- Ensure all finished products are clean, correctly labelled, and presented to a high standard.
- Identify and report any faults, defects, or inconsistencies.
Production & Workflow
- Complete works orders in a timely manner and allocate or despatch orders .
- Prioritise workload based on production schedules and urgent orders.
- Work closely with Picking, Goods Inwards and Despatch team to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used.
- Sign and date all works orders for traceability.
General Requirements
- Experience in hose assembly, mechanical assembly, or a similar manufacturing role (preferred but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented approach with a proactive attitude.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with hydraulic systems and components.
- Familiarity with crimping and pressure testing equipment.
- Basic computer skills for updating job records.
